Our Philosophy

We believe in providing a warm, non-competitive environment in which each child is accorded the respect and freedom necessary to realize and develop his or her unique personality and potential. At Shrewsbury Montessori, your child learns first through his or her hands. Concepts are introduced in concrete practical terms using Montessori materials before introducing the abstract. Children often experience their own "Aha!" moment as they discover the abstract on their own. We believe in developing the "whole child". Emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive learning happens all at once.  Your child will learn to respect themselves and the world around them.
